Kamp Klondike Bible Camp is looking for counselors for its camp near Dawson City, Yukon. There is a need for up to 8 senior counselors (4 guys and 4 girls) who are mature both spiritually and physically. They will be responsible for a cabin group of not more than six children, as well as participating in teaching and recreational activities. There would also be opportunities available to serve as junior counselors for those 14-18. The camp is owned and operated by the Dawson Community Church, a member of the Canadian Pacific District of EFCC. It is a well-established camp which serves Dawson City, Ross River, YT, and Fort McPherson, NT. Approximately ¾ of the campers come from First Nations’ villages, giving the counselors an opportunity to work in a cross-cultural environment. The camp has eight well-built cabins for the campers with mattresses and eight bunk beds. There is no electrical power, so there are outhouses. Water is hauled in. There is a kitchen/dining hall complex, providing the campers and staff with hot meals and snacks from a propane fueled kitchen. There is also a large multi-purpose building which serves as chapel and gym and a well-equipped craft building. Kamp Klondike has a well-organized teaching program, with dedicated staff teachers and campfire speakers. In addition, the counselors are involved in teaching within their cabin groups and also within the larger teaching situations. There is a well-rounded recreation program, with a great rope course and archery, as well as stilts, canoeing, scooter hockey, volleyball, and a large play area.
